Children's Dental Group - Children's Dental Group
Based in Southern California, Children’s Dental Group offers superior health care with the mission of serving local communities. As the founder of Children’s Dental Group, Dr. Scott Jacks saw a need for pediatric dental care and dental education in communities that are underserved. In 1980, he established the Children’s Dental Group’s first location in the community of South Gate. Since those early days, the practice has experienced tremendous success and expanded to include offices throughout the state in South Gate, Norwalk, Santa Ana, Anaheim, Eagle Rock, Carson, San Jose, and Sunnyvale.
Based on the demographics of its local communities, Children’s Dental Group possesses a culturally diverse staff. Now, patients can receive assistance in Spanish, English, or Vietnamese at Children’s Dental Group. Dr. Jacks is currently working to secure access to pediatric dental care for populations that are underserved. Children’s Dental Group focuses on hiring members of these groups in order to support the community and provide a broader base to achieve its goal of superior dental education.
One of the primary ways that Children’s Dental Group works to promote pediatric health is by providing resources for parents. By placing a strong emphasis on education, Dr. Jacks and his staff are able to extend the practice of good dental hygiene beyond the office. While offering games, toys, and movies for kids to create a fun environment at each facility, Children’s Dental Group offers state-of-the-art equipment like inter-oral cameras in order to provide parents with visuals of their children’s dental work. The dentists and staff also offer parents practical tips for preventing tooth decay like changing their diet and assisting with brushing and flossing.
As the founder of Children’s Dental Group, Dr. Scott Jacks has presented and written papers on numerous topics, including sedation techniques for oral health care, managed care and its impact on dentistry, as well as access to care in the pediatric dentistry. In addition to his role at Children’s Dental Group, he has served on the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Board of Governors and the Board of the Pacific Dental Education foundation in San Francisco. In addition, he is a longtime supporter Hollenbeck Youth Center in the Boyle Heights area of East Los Angeles, the Children's Hospital of Orange County, and numerous Head Start programs. Dr. Jacks graduated from the University of Southern California and the University of the Pacific.
